Catherine “Cathy” Horkan is a provider established in Malden, Massachusetts with over twenty years of experience working in and around the Boston area.   Her medical specialization is a clinical social worker.  As a clinical social worker, Cathy is licensed to diagnose and treat mental, behavioral, and emotional disorders.

Cathy holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut and a masters degree from Boston University.  Cathy has worked in a variety of settings including non-profit, public education (social worker and guidance counselor) and private practice. 

She specializes in a variety of modalities including individual, group, couples and family counseling with a CBT approach that includes talk therapy with all populations. Cathy is also EMDR certified and uses this modality to help clients change their narratives after any loss, trauma or grief.  Cathy’s approach is clear and direct with a tremendous amount of support and empathy.  Interests include grief, anxiety, depression and results focused work.
